Timmons was back to update us since 2015 on the efforts of Trellis Supportive Care ( formerly Hospice and Palliative CareCenter), providers of palliative and hospice care plus family support to veterans and the community.
North Carolina ranks sixth in the Nation for it veteran community with a value of $6.5 Billion to the State's economy. Upwards of 25% of these are women veterans, often overlooked in discussions and considerations about our VA needs.
Beyond the good news of VA care developments remains the shocking loss of 22 veterans per day from suicides. Don left us with a challenge to contact and include any and all veterans we are able in order to avoid the loneliness or isolation they feel that can lead to suicidal thoughts and actions.
