Cyndi Briggs spoke to our Council around 2016 when first she started recording the experiences of military veterans in the Winston Salem area. Since then she has recorded something in the order of 106 veterans, of which some 26 have passed away. Time is of the essence.
Brook Davis, who teaches acting at Wake Forest, teamed with Cyndi over the past three years to jointly write and produced plays incorporating these verbal histories. Local actors and student actors brought the tales to life for two full house performances!
Up coming will be their stage production on the subject of Women Veterans, Theatre and Mental Health.
This was President Ken Zuhr's first Council Meeting and he was ably assisted by First Vice President Phil Briscoe in getting the word out regarding new membership growth and what we can do to achieve that.
